World Communion Directions

East: Will you face the East.

From the East, we draw upon traditions of strong family ties. As our Middle Eastern neighbors are strong and nurturing, let us grow in their image to lay a firm foundation for our society.

South: Will you face the South.

From the South, we draw upon traditions of perseverance and dedication. As our South American and African neighbors are focused and passionate, let us grow in their image to light our own inner fires.

West: Will you face the West.

From the West, we draw upon traditions of ancient wisdom. As our Asian neighbors look beneath the surface of life, let us grow in their image to understand one another on the deepest levels.

North: Will you face the North.

From the North, we draw upon traditions of learning and intellect. As our European neighbors hone their minds in the pursuit of knowledge, let us grow in their image to live life with clarity and discernment.

Center: Will you face the Center.

At the Center, we appreciate the lively fusion of cultures that our nation represents. But we do not look to other cultures for inspiration because we lack it ourselves; strength, passion, wisdom, and intelligence are present among us in their own right, just as they all are amongst each of these cultures we've named. As we learn from one another, may the contact between our cultures broaden our perspectives, enhance our spirituality, and increase our faith that we are all one body in God.
