Let us turn to the East.
Breath of the East,
you rush in and out of our lungs,
shake the leaves on the trees –
the same wind caresses us all.
In the air that we share,
let us know ourselves to be one.
Let us turn to the South.
Flame of the South,
you burn on our altar,
shine down on our faces –
the same heat warms us all.
In the fire that we share,
let us know ourselves to be one.
Let us turn to the West.
Rain of the West,
you satisfy our thirst,
cool us in the heat of summer –
the same wetness sustains us all.
In the water that we share,
let us know ourselves to be one.
Let us turn to the North.
Soil of the North,
you bloom with summer growth,
give us your body on which to build and farm –
the same rock supports us all.
In the earth that we share,
let us know ourselves to be one.
Let us turn to the Center.
Spirit at the Center,
you grieve with us in our pain,
celebrate with us in our joys –
the same spark is the life-giver of us all.
In the divinity that is beyond knowing, that we yet all know,
let us affirm that through God we become one. Amen.
